As a Garage Door Installer you are the face of Heartland Door & Window to customers and the community. Successful candidates for this position are professional, courteous, and have experience working directly with the public. Successful candidates will also understand mechanics and a willingness to learn from experienced Heartland Door & Window employees.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Although knowledge of garage door installation experience is a plus, but not required for the installer trainee opportunity.
• Knowledge of hand tools, mechanical power tools is required.
• Willingness to learn how to install garage door tracks on ceilings and walls of garages.
• Willingness to learn how to assemble and attaches garage doors.
• Willingness to learn how to installs keypads to open garage doors on the wall of garages.
• Willingness to learn how to adjust doors to open or close with the correct amount of effort and makes simple adjustments to electric openers.
• Willingness to learn how to make repairs and replaces worn or broken door parts, using hand tools.
• Willingness to learn how to safely remove or disassemble defective doors, automatic door closers, etc.
• Completes paperwork as needing, such as work orders.
• Ideal candidate will conducts all actions in accordance with Midway Wholesaler's' and Beacon Building products safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ideal Candidate will have a valid driver’s license and ability safely operate a motor vehicle. The individual selected for this position will work closely with another installer on job sites and will interact with Midway Wholesale and Heartland Door & Window customers.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Lift as much as 80 pounds above head.
• Extend arms above head for long periods of time during garage door installation processes.
• Climb up and down a ladder repeatedly.
• Stand in awkward positions on a ladder with arms above head for long periods of time.
• Operate drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and other hand tools for long periods of time.
• Operate motorized machines, i.e., scissor lifts.
• Load and unload heavy material on/off truck.
• Bend, squat, and stoop repetitively.
