Garage Door Installer
Reports To Heartland Door & Window Branch Manager
Classification Full-time; Non-exempt
Hours 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday-Friday. 

Job Summary
The Garage Door Installer is the face of Heartland Door & Window to customers and the community. Successful candidates for this position are professional, courteous, and have experience working directly with the public. Successful candidates will also have an understanding of mechanics and a willingness to learn from experienced Heartland Door & Window employees.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Installs garage door tracks on ceilings and walls of garages.
• Assembles and attaches garage doors.
• Installs keypads to open garage doors on the wall of garages.
• Adjusts doors to open or close with the correct amount of effort and makes simple adjustments to electric openers.
• Repairs and replaces worn or broken door parts, using hand tools.
• Removes or disassembles defective doors, automatic door closers, etc.
• Completes paperwork as needing, such as work orders.
• Welds as needed.
• Conducts all actions in accordance with Midway Wholesale’s safety policies and procedures.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safely operate a motor vehicle.
A significant level of trust is required as this position works independently on job sites and interacts
with Midway Wholesale and Heartland Door & Window customers. Courtesy and tact are

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
• Lift as much as 80 pounds above head.
• Extend arms above head for long periods of time.
• Climb up and down a ladder repeatedly.
• Stand in awkward positions on a ladder with arms above head for long periods of time.
• Operate drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers and other hand tools for long periods of
• Operate motorized machines, i.e. scissor lifts.
• Load and unload heavy material on/off truck.
• Bend, squat and stoop repetitively.
