Commercial Sales Director, South Division

 

We are currently seeking a Commercial Sales Director for Beacon’s South Division. This position will report to the President, South Division.  

Position Description

The Commercial Sales Director will partner with the Division President, Regional Low Slope Leaders, Commercial SVP, Category Managers, Supply team and our Commercial Sales Centers and be responsible for developing strategies and solutions to drive above market organic growth and deliver predictable profitability for the Division’s Commercial product lines. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Align closely with the SVP Commercial and the Beacon Commercial team to leverage and enhance available companywide best practices and priorities (go-to-market, value prop, digital, private label, trainings) and implement Division Commercial go-to-market strategy to deliver profitable above market organic growth
  • Identify and evaluate Commercial best practices across the Division and partner with district and branch managers to invest in commercial resources and equipment, making a clear case for the return on that investment
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Acceleration team to prioritize roll-out cities, support roll-out  
  • Leverage Marketing capabilities to enhance lead flow and new customer acquisition
  • Lead adoption strategy for digital platforms internally and externally and partner with Digital team to evolve our capabilities to meet the needs of our Target customers
  • Establish supplier strategies by market and Commercial product line
  • Work with low performing commercial branches to improve performance
  • Ensure effective pricing strategies are in place to deliver profit targets and maximize new pricing model for the Commercial business
  • Oversee company’s Commercial product line innovation efforts, working with Supplier Partners to ensure first to market opportunities
  • In partnership with field leadership, deliver category sales, margin and inventory targets
  • Identify key Commercial customer success factors and capabilities to drive satisfaction and retention
  • Establish and monitor Commercial product line metrics to maximize Commercial sales, operating profit and ROCE
  • Drive Commercial sales teams’ efforts against key target customer segments
  • Ensure coordination of Field Sales and National Accounts teams
  • Build out private brand initiatives in Commercial space
  • Collaborate with VSM team to help optimize warehouses with medium to high levels of commercial sales
  • Partner with Human Resources and the field leadership team to attract, hire, train, develop and retain employees throughout all levels of the commercial organization to ensure we have the best team on the field
  • Partner with sales and branch leadership to identify commercial training needs and provide feedback to the training team for program enhancement.

It is vital for this role to be able to function effectively, exert influence and gain consensus at all organizational levels. The right candidate must also have solid organizational, time management and prioritization skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated expertise in the commercial roofing industry with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Distribution, building supply or multi-location retail experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience developing and implementing profitable sales strategy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to add strategic value at the leadership table
  • A track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and employees
  • Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity
  • Personal integrity and exemplary ethical standards
  • Ability to interpret and administer policies and procedures consistently and objectively
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.

 

Location

Location flexible to office or branch locations in one of the major markets within the South Division geography.
