Warehouse Associate

I.     Primary Function

To assure smooth operation of the warehouse/yard by performing material inspections upon receipt, filling orders, loading and unloading vehicles and notifying management of stock deficiencies.

II.    Key Responsibilities

  • Fills orders quickly and accurately
  • Initials Pick Tickets as orders are loaded and then insures secondary verification
  • Services will-call customers in a professional and timely manner
  • Carefully inspects condition and quantity of received materials before placing them in the warehouse
  • Properly places received materials in correct bin locations
  • Communicates all necessary deviations with the Receiving Coordinator (in advance) to facilitate proper changes in the inventory control system
  • Labels and stores all non-stock items
  • Monitors warehouse employees to ensure compliance of items 1-7, and corrected when they deviate from prescribed procedures
  • Completes cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Loads and unloads vehicles in a safe and professional manner
  • Notifies Branch Management when inventory levels appear low
  • Trains new personnel in accordance with branch procedures
  • Insures that office supplies and restroom materials (i.e. towels, toilet paper, etc.) are maintained at a working level
  • Verifies product descriptions, condition, amounts, and nomenclature
  • Reconciles printed tickets to actual stock
  • Completes paperwork in a timely fashion (Pick Tickets, Inventory Count Sheets, etc)
  • Point of Contact for other Yard personnel
  • Moves material in yard and warehouse
  • Promotes Beacon’s safety standards
  • Provides superior service to all internal and external customers
  • Assists in day-to-day sales activities when needed
  • Promotes Beacon’s leadership qualities
  • Assists Operation & Branch manager with inventory control
  • Manages warehouse security
  • Insure adherence to DOT Regulations
  • Assists Operation & Branch manager in scheduling daily deliveries
  • Performs other duties as assigned
