Logistics Systems Manager


Job purpose



The Manager, Logistics Engineering is responsible for the overall On Time & Complete (OTC) program as it relates to defining and overseeing market hub and sales center strategies.  He / she will lead all analytics, business case development, and internal reporting for Beacon’s ongoing transition into a hub and sales center operating model. This will involve partnering with Division, Market and functional leadership teams to develop short and long term strategic plans and oversee successful tactical deployment.



Duties and responsibilities


Existing Market Optimization

  • Drive ongoing change management and internal selling of OTC service model
  • Optimize deployment of current OTC markets by working directly with field leadership on operational efficiency, logistics system utilization, and inventory optimization
  • Partner with Supply Chain to develop inventory stocking and replenishment strategies
  • Conduct logistics analysis utilizing tools such as ESRI, Tableau, and other modeling software to determine optimal market structure to enhance customer experience, reduce costs, and optimize both fleet and supply chain
  • Through partnership with Logistics Systems and IT teams, identify and deploy new technology platforms needed for ongoing OTC optimization, including enhancements to existing Mincron and operating systems


Implement Hub & Sales Center Strategy

  • Build business cases, financial plans, and timelines for all identified markets and lead reviews with Division and Executive leadership on strategic timelines and approvals
  • Oversee OTC project timelines within approved markets to ensure on-time project launches
  • Define facility requirements and partner with real estate to conduct market searches as needed



  • Develop and deliver monthly program reporting as well as presentation development for Executives and Board of Directors
  • Provide ad-hoc support for field and corporate leadership
  • Participate in special projects as requested




Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain, logistics, finance, engineering, or business analytics; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience working in supply chain, logistics, financial planning & analysis and/or data analytics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required; an advanced understand of Excel is required
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to be an effective communicator at all levels of the organization is required
  • Demonstrated success working in a demanding, high-performance environment with a team-oriented culture
  • Ability to be a collaborative business partner and cultivate strong cross-functional relationships
  • Strong critical thinking skills with experience in anticipating management’s potential questions and next steps
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data, summarize in a clear and concise manner, and provide insightful analysis and commentary for senior management
