Marketing Manager - Event Planning

The Marketing Manager for Events Planning role will oversee and organize events making an impact on our internal and external customer base. This position will ensure events of up to 1,000 participants and/or attendees are successful and cost-effective, while managing budget and time constraints. The position will manage projects, so a strong understanding of marketing and promotion techniques is needed. This person will work in a team environment within the marketing department while interacting with company personnel in all departments and levels of the organization.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Conduct short- and long-term planning and management for events and sales
  • Propose and administer budgets, marketing plans, and objectives to leadership pertaining to those events
  • Develop, make recommendations, and implement effective marketing plans for optimizing event attendance
  • Evaluate each piece of event business to ensure business can be properly serviced
  • Assemble creative and innovative event attractions based on internal capabilities or outsourcing to qualified vendors
  • Train, supervise, and collaborate with event staff to solicit and book banquet and catering functions, as well as the planning, merchandising and execution of the functions
  • Build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives
  • Administer all phases of marketing as it relates to events, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, servicing, and administrative procedures

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or another related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of a lead role within Events and/or Catering environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication competency
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, administrative, and customer service skills
  • Proficient with Personal Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
