FP&A Manager

Job purpose


This role on the Corporate Business Analytics FP&A team will report to the Director of Business Analytics and directly support our corporate sales executives. The position will leverage internal and external industry data to deliver recommendations and insights. The ideal candidate would have experience analyzing large disparate data sets to provide leaders both macro level trends and specific actionable localized insights. To succeed in this role a candidate should be highly versatile, curious, and experienced with using data analysis tools to answer business questions. Experience with Excel is required and prior experience with Tableau desktop, Alteryx, and geo-spatial tools is preferred.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Partner with senior VP level sales leadership to understand and drive top and line growth
  • Leverage external market data to better understand market share and identify opportunities
  • Improve sales KPIs to drive organizational behavior
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reporting to understand volume, revenue, and price impacts
  • Analyze data across various dimensions (customer, brand, geography, and price) to identify opportunities
  • Develop and maintain robust sales forecasts using descriptive & predictive analytics
  • Provide ad-hoc support for field and corporate leadership
  • Support senior leadership in long range strategic plan and develop near term targets
  • Support leadership in evaluating performance using various methods such as Operating Income or Return on Capital Employed
  • Create and/or use data models to answer complex business questions
  • Assist in developing Tableau dashboards for organizational wide use
  • Understand and leverage geo-spatial data sets to understand major market (MSA) conditions or segment trends




  • Bachelor of Science degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in financial planning & analysis and/or data analytics
  • Strong analytical skillset and experience with tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Personal Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong data & analytics capabilities, comfortable with data models and visualization tools
  • High degree of self-initiative and curiosity to answer leadership questions
  • Ability to be a collaborative business partner and cultivate strong cross-functional relationships
  • Construction industry / distribution experience a plus but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication competency
