ETL Developer

The ETL Developer will be primarily responsible for developing, designing, and documenting Talend ETL processes. To succeed in this role, you must be highly motivated with a proven ability to work on different initiatives within a challenging and dynamic work environment. This position will be responsible for completing plan projects, managing delivery of ETL, and Data Architecture. The ETL Developer will report directly to the IT Team Lead.


Duties and responsibilities


  • Develop new ETL enhancements and modify existing code using Talend ETL tool
  • Work independently to develop, configure, and unit test programs from specs (source to target mappings)
  • Design, and document ETL solutions for projects, estimate work effort, and provide status of tasks
  • Develop complex ETL jobs from various sources such as MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle and other files
  • Provide technical production support of Talend production ETL processes
  • Provide troubleshooting oversight and operational support for production issues
  • Acquire and interpret business requirements, determine the most appropriate solution design, and maintain best practices and methodologies for Talend ETL development
  • Handling enhancement requests for the existing Talend Jobs
  • Tuning sources, targets, and jobs to improve the Talend ETL performance
  • Identify and implement improvements to the data warehouse environment
  • Experience working with complex SQL queries using stored procedures, views, joins etc.
  • Escalate issues when required and communicate with customers independently
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and fixing the production issues based on the priority and provide support




  • 1-2 years’ experience in development, maintenance, and enhancements of Talend ETL mappings, workflows, and processes for a data warehouse, preferred
  • Experience working with Talend Administration console for scheduling talend jobs, preferred
  • Strong experience working MSSQL, SSIS ETL, and Datawarehouse
  • Experience in using basic java coding in Talend ETLs
  • Experience in Talend API integration and exposure to CRM tools and python
  • Excellent analytical, organization, and facilitation skills; ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient skill with Personal Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen


Working conditions


  • Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes
  • Working space will be in a quiet open environment seated within a cubical
  • Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices/branches within respective markets


Physical requirements


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
  • Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
