Beacon is a Fortune 500 company with over 580 locations in all US states and six Canadian provinces. eCommerce is a thriving part of Beacon's business growth and our product catalog team is essential to its succes. The primary responsibility of the eCommerce Catalog Specialist is to help manage the online catalog of building material for our eCommerce platform. This person will help translate product names from our supply management system into the proper description for easy customer identification. The catalog specialist will be expected to provide extensive product and industry research to ensure accuracy of product information. This person should possess strong problem solving, analytical, and logic skills.

What You Will Be Working On:

  • Be adept and develop a strong understanding of building material products and specifications
  • Become knowledgeable and well versed with our suite of eCommerce technology offerings
  • Use problem solving and logic to solve complicated scenarios
  • Help drive customer utilization and adoption of Beacon’s eCommerce software platforms 
  • Listen to customer needs and establish a trusted advisor relationship to create engagement, alignment, solutions, and adoption of technology platforms 

What You Will Need to Be Successful in This Role:  

  • Experience and ability to master Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Ability to use technology and common software and web applications
  • Basic image editing
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and logic
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills 
  • Strong sense of ambition, self-motivation, and self-discipline
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Strong research skills
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred
