The Director, eCommerce is a leadership role, tasked with accelerating Beacon’s digital growth and adoption. This individual will have responsibility for defining and executing a data-driven, customer-centric web and mobile app strategy, with a focus on the eCommerce experience (PRO+). The Director will work cross-functionally to deliver a roadmap that delights our customers and aligns with overall company goals and targets. The role will have several direct reports in key areas to execute core strategies.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Beacon PRO+ customer segments to drive innovations and prioritization of features
- Work closely with Analytics, Market Research, UX, IT and the field to ensure the PRO+ team has the knowledge, resources, and technologies to build an in-depth understanding of how customers use PRO+
- Help drive the short and long-term PRO+ strategy, create PRO+ web and mobile app roadmaps, and oversee end-to-end implementation
- Execute on roadmaps with UX, Analytics, IT, Marketing, Sales, and other internal and external partners
- Develop, define, and document new features and functionality to increase customer conversion, growth, and engagement to support business goals
- Research new opportunities and partnerships that will improve the customer experience and/or platform performance
- Drive organizational alignment on web and mobile-specific experiences and investments to ensure a high-quality customer experience across touchpoints
- Evaluate and select vendor technologies based on multi-year strategy
- Prioritize and balance trade-offs between product capabilities and technical debt
- Lead team which includes Product Managers, Content Managers, Catalog Managers, and PRO+ Customer Service Representatives
- Mentor and coach team members, empowering them to make informed decisions that deliver customer value and positively impact the business
- Ensure Product, UX and Development teams balance finding viable solutions with delivering a high-quality customer experience
- Identify gaps in the PRO+ team and work with HR and recruiting to hire high-performing team members
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to define product rollouts, schedules, and budgets
- Partner with Sales & Marketing to facilitate training, communication, change management and ensure high levels of field and engagement
- Create key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure adoption and define business acceptance criteria for launch
- Serve as the PRO+ lead for PI and sprint planning, scrum and project management, and vendor and technology assessments
- Ensure that vendors are held to a defined standard
- Partner with IT to enhance our end-to-end development practices and operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Business Administration, or relevant field
- 8+ years of experience in digital product management with increasing levels of responsibility; B2B experience a plus
- 2+ years of experience in mobile product management/ownership
- Experience working with Agile methods; Jira expertise preferred
- Proven record of leading high performing teams to develop delightful digital product experiences/features
- Self-directed, hands-on, and get-it-done mindset

- Expertise in user-centered design principles and best practices
- Successful collaboration with web and mobile developers, UX designers, as well as digital and technology leaders
- Experience with digital content management and Content Management Systems
- Proficient skill with Personal Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures
Working conditions
- Moderate travel requirements as needed for business purposes
- Working space will be in a quiet open environment seated within a cubical
- Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices/branches within respective markets
Physical requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
- Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
