Reporting to the Controller, Consolidations & Reporting, the General Ledger Accountant’s main responsibility will be assisting with the timely and accurate execution the monthly accounting close. Main areas of focus during the close will be on cash and debt-related accounts. Tasks will include, but are not limited to, the preparation and recording of journal entries and the reconciliation of corporate general ledger accounts (bank reconciliations/debt rollforwards). This individual may also be asked to participate in or lead other special projects/initiatives that contribute to the continuous improvement of monthly/quarterly accounting close processes. 


The successful candidate will possess strong work ethic and communication skills, as well as solid fundamental accounting knowledge – particularly in the areas of cash and debt. This person is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is willing to take on all challenges and become a strong individual contributor to the corporate accounting function of this growing Fortune 500 company.


The Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation of monthly corporate journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Detailed analysis of corporate accounts in connection with monthly accounting close.
  • Prepare internal support documentation as well as external work papers for auditors.
  • Assist with periodic financial reporting efforts, as needed (internal & external)
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special project assistance, as needed.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi-location corporate setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree.  
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA candidate
  • Experience or strong familiarity with cash accounting/preparation of bank reconciliations as well as debt accounting/calculation of debt-related interest on various types of financing arrangements.
  • Diligent organizational habits with a detail-oriented focus on producing high-quality deliverables.
  • The ability to successfully multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • A creative, analytical mind and problem-solving acumen.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general comfort with utilizing various financial software platforms.
