We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to support the North Division, North Atlantic Region. The position is responsible for approximately 700 employees located in 54 locations across the Central and Eastern PA, New Jersey, New York and Long Island.  This position will report directly to the North Division & Interior Products Vice President, Human Resources and indirectly to the Regional Vice Presidents of the North Atlantic Region. 


The Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage HR Operations for exempt and non-exempt teams in a union and non-union environment; including staffing, training, leadership/employee development and coaching, career planning, workforce development, performance management,salary planning, talent development, succession planning, employee relations and overall human resource compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and change initiative across the organization
  • Actively manage organizational talent and workforce planning processes
  • Participate in organization wide human resources initiatives including leadership and employer of choice efforts
  • Create and implement a positive employee relations program at all locations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Engagement and Retention initiatives
  • Effectively manage communication plans and HR strategy for annual HR processes (e.g. Performance Management, Salary Planning, Talent Reviews)
  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation, employee and labor relations guidance, and day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Manage leave of absence process and transitional duty process
  • Facilitate resolution of payroll and timekeeping administration issues
  • Provide guidance and compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, transfers.
  • Partner with Regional Safety Managers to ensure effectiveness of company safety programs and initiatives.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.  Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Other duties as assigned



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A minimum of 8 years of full scope human resources management experience required, with related industry experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience with a Fortune 500 company that is well known for HR practices, preferred.
  • Must have experience supporting union employees and working with union contracts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and process orientation.   
  • Strong business acumen and analytical mindset with the ability to lead, implement, and facilitate change.
  • Strong employee relations background required, with relatable labor relations experience preferred.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience working in changing environments, managing through complexity and driving change.
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills.   
  • Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience communicating with and influencing all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in working in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture.
  • Must be able to think and act strategically, but also be willing to “roll up sleeves" for all HR functions.
  • Willing to travel up to 30%.
