In this role, you will work to grow and maintain business with assigned accounts, as well as develop new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow revenue with existing customers and leverage those relationships to identify other customer leads and
- opportunities
- Prepare job quotes for all bid work for assigned accounts, utilizing product and construction expertise to provide
- added value to the customer.
- Identify and negotiate with appropriate vendors to ensure we have purchasing and vendor selection strength on
- quoted projects
- Create Purchase Orders with vendors, confirm availability of inventory orders, and coordinate shipment of
- customer orders with the Operations Department.
- Continually develop and enhance product expertise
- Quickly and efficiently resolve customer complaints and problems
- Actively manage and monitor business opportunities in assigned account base to maximize revenue
- Achieve sales and margin targets set for portfolio of assigned accounts
- Turn around quotes quickly and always within time requirements of customer
- Develop and maintain long term successful and loyal customer relationships
- Facilitate customer returns, including vendor credits and shipping coordination
- Review project quotes with Sales or Branch Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
Professional Skills
- Versed in building material product lines, construction knowledge
- Organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Interpersonal skills to enable coordination of complex business transactions as well as conflict resolution
- Knowledge of Allied Building Products credit practices and policies to include project bonding and lien rights
- PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Internally motivated and team-oriented approach to a stressful work environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once while maintaining control and perspective of each
- Able to learn and retain vast amounts of product information
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in construction or building supply industry with specific expertise in Windows, Doors, and/or Lumber
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
